There wasn’t a lot of remodeling needed in this family home purchased by one of the original owner’s children. The days of parties and lake activities in the 70’s and 80’s were still visible in the finishes so we tweaked the bones with new layers.
This 17’ island is new and ready to serve all the kids, grandkids and extended family for parties and holidays. We opted to paint some of the vintage kitchen cabinets and update the countertop and hardware.
Floors refinished, light fixtures replaced, new furniture and paint throughout the main level brought the home into the present.
The powder bath was a complete remodel with white oak reeded cabinet bowed-front to soften the angles of the home.
Upstairs in the primary suite bathroom, a blank canvas was a fresh start to an outdated puzzling layout with carpet! Mixing the cool toned stone tile with the natural white oak vanity is the perfect blend to a Scandinavian-like spa bath.
Whenever you can, bring in vintage to remind you that there was history before us… this wool rug was the perfect vintage find.
